The kidneys store the Ying that determines the personal phase of life such as birth, maturity, old age and death. The kidney function cycle regulates all body fluids, the build-up of bones, teeth, hair the ears. Disharmony can lead to anxiety, even depression, hot flushes, sterility, impotency, water retention (edemas) and loss of appetite.

Ms L. and her daughter, from Bernkastel-Kues, were both in our TCM energy center for treatment. The mother had serious menopause disorders and the daughter had back pains and even vomiting and weariness during menstruation. Both were diagnosed with a weak kidney-Qi. Both were treated for pain using acupuncture of the kidney meridian, among other at the points Ni6 and Ni3, and also at points Gb34 of the gall bladder meridian.

After 5 acupunctures with herbal pillow treatments as well as moxibustion on the daughter for energy supply, both were without complaints. Through targeted nutrition as prescribed by TCM, such as warm meals both in the mornings and evenings (e.g. grain porridge and stewed fruit) as well as the occasional drinking course with Chinese herbal tea, both are without complaints to this day.

Incidentally, this was also a very interesting case, since it proved the hereditary nature of functional cycle weaknesses.
